We’d like you to meet our Instrumentation Foreman, Aaron Palmer. Aaron has been an integral part of our Instrumentation department here at Stratus, wearing lots of hats including running crews, material procurement, Instrumentation QAQC, including supervising and executing pressure testing to ABSA requirements.
Aaron started in the trade in 2007 and completed his journeyman ticket at Nait in Edmonton. Once he graduated, he worked for an instrumentation company in Fox creek (Northern Alberta) for over 10 years doing maintenance and construction, until joining the Stratus team in 2019. Aaron has grown up in a small town his whole life up until now, so adjusting from Fox Creek where he grew up to the city life was interesting to say the least.
Instrumentation is a unique industry in western Canada. He chose this field as it was always something that interested him and created a challenge, which keeps him on his toes every day. Working at Stratus, he has learned that there are so many different aspects of instrumentation that aren’t just in the oil and gas industry, which has really expanded his knowledge and skills to work across many different industries. For Aaron working with Stratus has also allowed him to enjoy building relationships with different clients while providing quality work, and a safe working environment.
The sense of community and family at Stratus is a value that Aaron was really drawn to because the people you work with make all the difference. When he’s not working, you can find him spending time with his family or at the lake skating, swimming, camping, or snowmobiling.
Aaron continues to grow with Stratus, and is expanding his knowledge everyday taking on new tasks and learning everything he can to make the Stratus Instrumentation team grow and be successful. We are so excited to see what cool and new things come out of our Instrumentation group.

HERE WE GO AGAIN! Stratus is excited to be working alongside Valard Construction Construction at the new Barlow Solar Farm project in Calgary. We are so proud to be building our relationship with Valard and know that this is another great opportunity to add more renewable resources within the city.
What is neat about this being in the city is that there is the potential for this site to power over 5000 homes from this site alone.
It has now been one year since I started working for Stratus and it’s been filled with experiences. I’ve wired a walk-in cooler and freezer, I’ve worked on a solar farm AND I’ve worked on a wind farm doing high voltage terminations. Stratus has been quite good to me and I hope to work for them for a long time. Keep the good times rollin! @stratus_ei ... See MoreSee Less

Can you believe that it is almost one week until CHRISTMAS! We can’t either lol, but to kick off the holiday season the Stratus crew was excited to drop off our Veteran’s food bank donations just in time for their hamper delivery on December 17th!
Thank you to all the Stratus employees who donated treats, non-perishable food items as well as monetary donations for the food bank. This group is often forgotten, and the veteran’s food bank is helping in any way needed!
If you would like to support the Veterans food bank, they are always looking for Tissues, treats, Butter, milk and of course as much non-perishable food items as possible.
Over the past few months Stratus has been committed to focusing our efforts and time on positioning Stratus as a truly ESG and indigenous relations driven company. We know that this effort cannot just come from the top. We believe that the entire company should have a say and a responsibility to the impacts of the environment and reconciliation.
We had the pleasure and support from Luticia L. Miller from NineIrons help us drive the conversation at Stratus and work through what our “WHY” is as a group. We really got to hear and explore our groups intentions and what matters to each individual and how we can use these perspectives to curate our path going forward.
We continue to put in the work and are looking forward to sharing with everyone in the new year our actions going forward.
Thank you again Luticia and the Stratus group for helping us make a difference.
